Thoughts from April 17th, 2025
- Is the Bible version debate an issue or a nonissue with you? I believe it to be an issue within the Christian community. After all, Christian groups divide over the topic. I use the King James Version exclusively, but I am unwilling currently to say others are not Christians because they do not use the KJV. There are those within the KJV supporters that would vehemently disagree with me and say you cannot be saved from reading other versions. Discuss.
- I think the practice of friendship evangelism is over emphasized. I am not saying it should not be emphasized, but I am saying that it should not be spoken of as the main way evangelism should take place at the cost of leaving out other means of evangelism. Many times, the blunt presentation of the gospel is needed without the long development of a relationship.
- 2 Timothy 3:1 says, 'that in the last days perilous times shall come." To me one of the great perils we see today is the output of misinformation in all kinds of medias. Much of it is not just misinformation but downright lying with the intent to deceive. I often wonder what kind of society my grandchildren will be dealing with when they become adults and start their own families. Yet, our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He took care of my grandparents. He took care of my parents. He took care of me and my siblings. He is taking care of my children, and he will continue to take care of my grandchildren.
